Notes:

• Use only the Internet Explorer browser to access SR Foundations.
• Disable popup blockers. For instructions, click here.
• This class takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete and may be completed in multiple sessions
• You will log into this class with your UVa Computing ID; this enables SSP administrators to verify that you have satisfied this prerequisite and completed the 23 topics that comprise the class prior to your scheduled functional training.

To report that you have completed the class:

Send an “I completed online training” email to: stusys@virginia.edu as follows:

Subject:  I completed online training.

By sending this email, I confirm that I have completed the [insert name of online training class] on [insert date].  Please update my SIS access accordingly.

To access the class:

• Please read these directions or print out a copy before proceeding.
• Click this link: http://upkut.admin.virginia.edu/foundations
• The NetBadge Web Login page displays. Log in with your U.VA. Computing ID and one of the passwords listed to the left of the Password field.

• The Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) Login page displays. If you are entering the training for the first time, click the First Time users Click Here to Create Account link.

• UPK’s Create New User page displays. Click the Create User and Login button. This action automatically directs you into the training.
• When returning to the training, click the Returning Users Click Here button.

Note: Select the Save user name and password check box to bypass this page in the future.

• The UPK outline for SR Foundations (Navigation Fundamentals, Student Records, Academic Advisement) displays in the left pane. Expand the sections in the left pane to the topic level.

• Highlight an individual topic.
• Click Try It! to launch the UPK topic.
• At the end of a topic, UPK returns you to the outline. Repeat the same process with the next topic until you have completed them all. There are 7 sections and 23 topics in all.
• To exit a topic without completing it, click the X in the top right corner of any yellow text bubble. You can return to a topic but not to a specific portion of a topic.
